June 11, 2010 Chestnut AQHA Filly
Another great “Sonita” filly. This little powerhouse has a ton of eye appeal with her rabicano markings (ringed ‘coon tail and roaning in her flanks). Cow breeding on the top, speed on the bottom….a great combination for the ranch or rodeo pen. We are pursuing her NFQHA papers. Her full sister was a charm to work with, and this filly is proving to be much the same.
Nominated to the Southwest Ranch Horse Association futurity/maturity.
UPDATE MARCH 1st 2013: “Peggy” is home from spending 2 months being started under saddle with Tilleys’ Custom Colts, and we couldn’t be happier with how she’s riding. She’s riding well inside and out, riding with the horsemanship flag, working a rope incredibly well and is showing a great interest in cattle. She is a “smooth moving outfit!” (John Tilley) with a big heart and lots of “try”.
This filly has a great start and would be suitable for penning, sorting, ranch horse versatility, and rodeo events. She would also make a great trail riding partner for those looking to just enjoy the ride. We will continue working with her until sold with plans to have her spend time working in a feedlot after spring breakup (price will increase) and then show her in the 3 year old division of the Southwest Ranch Horse Association ranch horse futurity in October of 2013.
